Impactos y perspectivas de expansión de la energía eólica marina y seguridad energética

América Latina posee una matriz eléctrica relativamente renovable, pero aún enfrenta vulnerabilidades asociadas a sequías, dependencia hidroeléctrica, rezagos de transmisión, volatilidad de combustibles fósiles y desigualdades de acceso energético. El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar los impactos y perspectivas de expansión de la energía eólica marina y su contribución potencial a la seguridad energética regional. La metodología correspondió a una revisión bibliográfica exploratoria, basada en documentos científicos, técnicos e institucionales sobre potencial eólico marino, transición energética, impactos socioambientales, gobernanza, costos e integración eléctrica. Los resultados evidenciaron un potencial técnico considerable en países como Brasil, Colombia, Chile, México, Argentina y Uruguay, aunque condicionado por infraestructura portuaria, transmisión, financiamiento, regulación, profundidad marina y aceptación socioterritorial. La discusión plantea que la eólica marina no constituye una solución automática, sino una infraestructura estratégica cuya viabilidad depende de planificación marina espacial, justicia energética, evaluación ambiental acumulativa y mecanismos financieros estables. Se concluye que esta tecnología puede fortalecer la seguridad energética latinoamericana si se integra a una transición ordenada, resiliente, asequible y ambientalmente responsable.
